As the son of a nursery school teacher, Dr. Walker has had a penchant for children since a young age.  Following medical school at Jefferson and otolaryngology residency in Rochester, NY, it was only natural that he would pursue a pediatric fellowship.  He feels grateful to have had the opportunity to train at Boston Children’s Hospital, considered by many the top children’s hospital in the country, if not the world.

While working alongside world-renowned leaders in the field, Dr. Walker focused much of his clinical and research efforts on pediatric feeding disorders such as ankyloglossia (tongue tie) and laryngeal cleft, co-authoring four original manuscripts on the topic.  He has also authored two book chapters and presented regionally, nationally, and internationally on a variety of subjects.

Since graduating fellowship in 2016, he has dedicated himself to caring for the needs of children in South Jersey and beyond and has been named a “Top Doc” for pediatric patients in multiple publications every year from 2017 through the present.  Next Wave Kids came from a simple, yet profound, motive to identify and fulfill the needs of patients and families in the region.

Despite many excellent health systems in the region and a variety of state programs designed to improve children’s lives, families in South Jersey do not always have access to high-quality comprehensive options for services such as feeding, speech, and audiology. Factors such as insurance, geography, and long wait times further complicate a family’s journey navigating the healthcare system.  Next Wave Kids brings world-class expertise in otolaryngology, allergy, audiology, feeding, and speech under one umbrella by establishing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team.

We focus on timely access and utilize the most up-to-date guidelines and cutting-edge technology to care for the region’s children.  Find out more about how techniques such as TULA (Tubes Under Local Anesthesia), CIT (Coblation Intracapsular Tonsillectomy), and FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) are changing the way we care for kids, eliminating the need for anesthesia, minimizing pain and postoperative recovery times, and avoiding radiation exposure.
